Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland is allegedly interested in signing for Liverpool to come and play for the German coach Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth states that Haaland wants to play for Liverpool boss and adds that Klopp is a huge name in football who can attract stars to the club.

The article also explains the Reds, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are the four teams in the Premier League keen on signing Haaland from BVB this summer, despite his exit clause being £66 million the following year.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, Dharmesh outlined Liverpool’s position in the hunt to land Haaland. “Then there’s Liverpool. They haven’t been shy in spending in the past – they spent a combined £150m on a defender and goalkeeper in Van Dijk and Alisson – and I’m not sure we realise just how big a name Jurgen Klopp still is in Dortmund, and how that might have an impact.

“Could he come in and replace Roberto Firmino? I don’t think it’s an impossibility, but this will come down to finances and the desire to sign Haaland because I actually think he’d want to play for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool. In short, every team has their little advantage in this race.”

This provides a glimmer of hope to the Reds in their pursuit of Erling, although it could still be very difficult to bring him to the club considering the level of competition for him.

As the article says, the Blues, the Red Devils and the Citizens are also looking at a summer move for the forward, with all three sides currently sat above the Anfield side in the Premier League table.
