Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com reports the stiff competition which is going on for the Swiss sensation Joel Ribeiro.

The website states that Inter Milan, Atalanta and Torino are all keen on the 16-year-old. But they should not have an easy task since Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been attracted by the sensation as well.

It’s reported that Joel, who also holds a Portuguese passport, still does not have a professional deal at his club Lausanne, and could end up joining another side.

Nerazzurri are said to be the team who have made the ‘most concrete steps’ to land the attacking midfielder, but Calciomercato.com highlights the Reds as strong competitors in the hunt for him.

Joel has been playing for his country’s national team youth levels, having made matches for the U-15 and U-16 sides in the past couple of years.

With a youngster clearly not taking a place in the senior team so quickly, the Reds should present the star a good project so he can see himself growing at the team. Otherwise, the competition looks heavy.

In other news, Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez could be on his way to the Reds this summer, as Liverpool are reportedly willing to meet the striker exit clause.

Gomez was connected with a move to the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and West Ham United in January, though Celta Vigo were keen to retain the services of their star man until the end of the campaign as they attempt to avoid relegation.

The 22-year-old has netted 13 goals in La Liga this campaign and the Reds are said to be prepared to meet his £43 million buy-out clause this summer, according to The Guardian.
