Liverpool won’t be moving to sign Schalke centre-half Ozan Kabak, a player they have been heavily mentioned with, according to a report by The Athletic.
Diogo Jota and Thiago Alcantara joined the Greece international Kostantinos Tsimikas in coming through the door at Anfield in the ongoing transfer market last week.
There have been talks that Liverpool will turn their attention to landing a new centre-half after sealing the signatures of Jota and Thiago from Wolves and Bayern Munich, respectively.
Liverpool sold the Croatia international Dejan Lovren earlier in the market and are short on the cover at centre-back.
They have been linked with a host of options, including Schalke’s promising central defender Ozan.
But having completed the signings of Kostas, Thiago and Jota, Liverpool are not looking to bring in more stars before the transfer window slams shut on October 5th.
It was reported that the Premier League giants are instead turning their attention to outgoings, with Harry Wilson, Rhian Brewster and Marko Grujic among those who could depart.
While it has been suggested that the Anfield outfit will bring in a new centre-back following the departure of Dejan, manager Jurgen Klopp is happy with the variants he has at his disposal.
The German tactician views Brazilian star Fabinho, who partnered Virgil van Dijk in Liverpool’s 2-0 win against Chelsea, as his fourth centre-back option.
Jurgen also sees the 17-year-old French prodigy Billy Koumetio as his fifth option in central defence.
