Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior has brushed off rumours stating he could be set for a transfer away in the summer transfer market and says he wants to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu ‘forever’.

The Brazilian ace made history when he completed a €46m move from Flamengo to Madrid as an 18-year-old back four years ago as the sum was the largest amount ever paid for a player aged under 19.

And while he has shown glimpses of his unquestioned ability in the three-and-a-half years that have passed, Vinicius has struggled to live up to the sky-high expectations that follow every star to the Bernabeu.

Reports in Spain suggest Los Blancos are prepared to listen to proposals for Vinicius which had alerted Liverpool to the situation, with manager Jurgen Klopp keen for reinforcements in the attack after an immensely disappointing start to the season on Merseyside.

There has also been talk that the Galacticos could use Vinicius as a makeweight in a possible deal for Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe or even that the 20-year-old forward could be sent out on loan to guarantee more regular game time.

Asked whether he’d be open to a temporary move this summer, Vinicius told TNT Sports: ‘No. I’m always focused on wanting to be at Real Madrid, being with the best players, learning alongside the best players.

‘I’m 20 years old and it seems as though I’ve been playing for many years but I’m only at the beginning of my career.

‘I’m learning a lot from the players that are here, those that play in my position. ‘I want to stay at Real Madrid forever.’
