Alan Shearer expects manager Jurgen Klopp to sign ‘one big hitter’ for new PL champions Liverpool this summer.

The Anfield outfit were crowned Premier League champions last week after Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City dropped more points to Chelsea.

It is the first time the Reds have won a domestic title in 30 years and comes a year after Jurgen inspired the club’s Champions League triumph.

Premier League icon Shearer has paid tribute to the Reds and revealed he expects the club to strengthen Jurgen’s squad even more in the summer with one new ‘big hitter’.

‘For next season, I think Liverpool need only a small turnover of squad players to keep things fresh, keep the squad hungry,’ Alan wrote in a column for a British newspaper The Sun.

‘I could see them bring one big hitter in, which will push those already there even further.’

Liverpool have been heavily mentioned with summer moves for England winger Jadon Sancho and Napoli’s star defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

In other news, defender Nathaniel Clyne’s deal has now expired and he has left Liverpool after five seasons at the club.

On July 1st, 2015, the Reds confirmed the signing of Clyne on a five-year contract, from the fellow Premier League side Southampton for £12.5 million.

He made 71 appearances in his first two years with the club, playing an integral part at right back.

Nathaniel also played the full 90 minutes in the UEFA Europa League Cup final defeat against Sevilla back in 2016.
