Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are reportedly among the clubs interested in securing the services of SL Benfica teenager Rafael Brito.
The 18-year-old has made 17 appearances for the Portuguese side’s B and reserve teams this season thus far. He is predominantly a defensive midfielder but is also capable of playing as a centre-back.
According to Portuguese newspaper record (as quoted by Sport Witness), Liverpool are among the sides interested in signing the teenager who is among the finest talents in Aguias’ academy.
This report also claims that the Reds along with Real Madrid and Barcelona tried to acquire his signature and still identify him as a transfer target.
Brito has been quite promising for Aguias’ junior teams and he could well become a senior-team player for them provided he keeps doing well for them.
If he switches to Liverpool, then it wouldn’t be easy for him to make the first-team even in the forthcoming seasons as the club already have a good set of youngsters who are capable of making the first team.
Elswhere, Jurgen Klopp has rejected the chance to re-sign Philippe Coutinho at Liverpool, according to El Desmarque.
The South American isn’t expected to be retained by Bundesliga side Bayern Munich next campaign, having joined on loan from La Liga giants Barcelona.
