Liverpool have allegedly told Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane they wish to land him at the end of the campaign.
The Frenchman is a top Manchester United transfer target for the summer market as manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer eyes a partner for Harry Maguire but Reds head coach Jurgen Klopp, it seems, has other ideas.
Raphael has been a crucial asset for Los Blancos over the years, ever since arriving from French side Lens back in the summer transfer market of 2011.
He has become Sergio Ramos’ top partner in the defence, helping the club win four Champions League titles under Zinedine Zidane and Carlo Ancelotti.
However, Varane’s deal at the Bernabeu is starting to wind down – with the star’s current contract due to expire next summer.
PSG are keen on securing his signature, especially with the Ligue 1 heavyweights yet to sufficiently replace Chelsea defender Thiago Silva.
Manchester United are also in the running, with Solskjaer keen to bring in an upgrade on Axel Tuanzebe, Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof.
But OkDiario claim the defending Premier League champions are now in the frame to sign the 2018 World Cup winner.
It’s claimed Jurgen is dreaming of signing Raphael and pairing him alongside the Netherlands international Virgil van Dijk, who is due to return from a long-term injury next campaign.
And, furthermore, Liverpool have allegedly told Varane of their desire to land him when the transfer window reopens.
The Galacticos’ hand could be forced, too. They are hoping to sell Marcelo, Gareth Bale and Isco at the end of the season to free up funds as the club hunt down the Parisians striker Kylian Mbappe, who is their dream target.
