According to a report by Kicker, Hertha Berlin want to land Marko Grujic again – as well as Liverpool target Weston McKennie.
Bundesliga club have great financial backing from Lars Windhorst’s firm Tennor Holding, and that enabled the club to snap up Krzysztof Piatek, Lucas Tousart, Matheus Cunha and Santiago Ascacibar.
In spite of the global pandemic, the club could be set for more spending this summer, and their plans could greatly impact the Reds.
It’s claimed that Hertha want to bring in Grujic permanently after a two-year loan spell, but the club want the Serbian as well as McKennie.
The American star is set to quit Schalke this summer, and Hertha want to offer him a stay in Bundesliga whilst bringing Grujic back too.
Marko was Jurgen Klopp’s first signing as Liverpool manager way back in January 2016, but the star has only managed 14 appearances for the Reds.
Liverpool would certainly be open to selling him this summer, as it’d help them fund a new signing – and Weston is thought to be one target.
90Min claim that the Reds are ramping up their interest in Weston, viewing him as a possible midfield addition this summer.
If Hertha get their way through, they will manage to sign both Grujic and McKennie – and leave the Reds to go back to the drawing board.
Meanwhile, according to a report by Sport, Manchester United have moved into pole position for Liverpool midfield target, Thiago Alcantar’s signature.
