Liverpool have reportedly put Fabian Ruiz at the top of their transfer wishlist and are prepared to battle Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona for the Napoli midfielder.
Fabian is contracted to Napoli until the summer of 2023, but the Serie A side are keen to tie the player down to a new deal following interest from some of the continent’s top clubs.
However, the 23-year-old’s representative Alvaro Torres has said Ruiz won’t make a decision on his long-term future until the end of the term as he waits to see how Partenopei’s campaign pans out.
The club sacked Carlo Ancelotti as head coach earlier this season and replaced him with Gennaro Gattuso.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has made Ruiz his top target for the summer transfer market, according to the Express.
And the former Real Betis ace, who is also on Bayern Munich’s transfer radar, has a big decision to make.
“There have been many changes in the club this season, it’s been a difficult year for Napoli,” said his agent in quotes reported by the Express.
Asked about talks over a new deal, Alvaro said: “A renewal? We have set aside negotiations for a while, until the end of the season.
“There are very important clubs that have asked for information, and we have already informed Napoli. There is no release clause in his current contract. I really don’t know what Ruiz’s value is at present.”
Transfermarkt estimates Fabian’s value to be £54 million, although reports have suggested the Naples-based side value him at £74 million.
