Thiago to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool has gone relatively quiet over the past week. After initial big reports from the German press about a potential move to the Reds, there has not been a lot added since.

Bundesliga side Bayern Munich have accepted publicly that the ex-Barcelona player has a desire to leave the club, and they are ready to sell him given his current deal has less than a year left to run.

The club need a buyer and the asking price has been put at €20 million. There have been claims the Reds don’t want to go so high, and that would fit in a little with what Kicker are claiming.

The German outlet states Thiago ‘would like to’ sign for the Anfield outfit, which is natural given how attractive a prospect the PL giants is right now.

However, the Merseyside heavyweights’ management are not moving forward for a summer deal right now.

Liverpool have declared their interest with the star, but must first ‘decide on the course of a Corona savings programme’. This could include departures, with midfielder Naby Keita put forward as a possibility by Kicker.

On top of that, Liverpool want to work out how the Spain international would fit into the team, and the board also have doubts about his age and concerns about his injury record.

Thiago may be keen to sign for the English giants, yet it would appear they are holding back for now.
