According to a Spanish outlet AS, Manchester United are planning a move for Real Madrid star Marcos Llorente.

In spite of having a contract until the summer of 2021, the Spanish star is desperate for a switch to the Premier League after falling down the pecking order of French manager Zinedine Zidane.

A youth product of the Galacticos, Llorente was soon promoted to the first team in 2015. Later, the midfielder was once again pushed down the ranks, making the star a regular for the reserves.

The 24-year-old Llorente also had his loan stint with fellow Spanish side Alaves. He has made only 11 matches in what turned out to be an underwhelming campaign for Madrid.

Alongside Manchester United, fellow EPL outfit Arsenal are also keeping a close eye on the Spaniard.

More like Madrid, Solskjaer’s side have also endured a tough campaign with so many downs.

Norwegian manager, who looked brilliant at the start, has not inspired a lacklustre Red Devils to the winning ways of late.

With Marcos’ compatriot Ander Herrera departing Old Trafford, the Norwegian tactician now looks devoid of midfield options.

And for Serbia international Nemanja Matic, who is closing his twilight, Marcos would be a worthy replacement.

A defensive midfielder by trade, the Spaniard is a versatile player as he can also play various roles in the middle of the park.

Manchester United finished sixth in the Premier League standings, meaning they would not feature in the UEFA Champions League but in the UEFA Europa League next campaign.
