Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United are reportedly still keen on the transfer of the fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen despite failing to land him in the summer.
According to a recent report by the Daily Mirror, Manchester United are interested in signing the Denmark international, though Juventus are also among his potential buyers as he nears the end of his deal at Spurs.
A report from the Evening Standard stated Eriksen’s asking price had fallen from £80m to £40m, which could make the player a real bargain signing for the Red Devils if they get him in January.
The Mirror’s report claims this could be United’s last chance to bring in the 27-year-old, with the star likely to move abroad if he ends up running his current contract down and leaving for nothing in the summer.
Manchester United fans will surely be hoping they can win the race for Christian and perhaps persuade the playmaker to change his mind about a move to Old Trafford.
The former Ajax ace could be an ideal acquisition to either come in as an upgrade or a replacement for France international Paul Pogba, who hasn’t had the desired impact in his time in England.
It was recently reported by a Spanish radio station COPE that Pogba is not really injured and is deciding not to play in order to rest before leaving the Old Trafford outfit at the next possible opportunity.
