Manchester United have entered the hunt to sign rising the highly-rated Roma star Riccardo Calafiori.
The Red Devils have watched the impressive left-back playing for Roma’s youth team several times this campaign.
And the Old Trafford side have now sounded out his super-agent Mino Raiola about a potential transfer.
Calafiori, who is under contract with I Giallorossi until the summer of 2022, is already wanted by Paris Saint-Germain.
And he has been offered a bumper new deal in a bid to convince him to stay, with Roma keen to bring him into the senior team squad next season.
Technical staff in the team also believe that while the Italy U19 international is a top prospect, it is too early for him to move abroad.
But it is understood I Giallorossi would be willing sellers at the right price and are hoping to encourage an auction.
Riccardo has four goals and two assists in 13 matches with the youth team this season and has impressed the Red Devils with his performances.
Meanwhile, Odion Ighalo is ready to risk a new £75 million contract with Shanghai Shenhua to remain with the club for the rest of the season.
Ighalo signed for United on a short-term loan in January and has proved a huge success after netting four times in eight appearances.
His deal expires this weekend and Odion is wanted back in China, where Shenhua are gearing up for the start of the new campaign next month, after the start date in March was put back due to the coronavirus.
But he remains desperate to see out the Premier League season with United, who are interested in retaining his services so he can provide attacking cover for Marcus Rashford.
Victor Osimhen’s potential buyers have been warned they won’t be able to sign the Nigeria international on the cheap in the summer by Lille owner Gerard Lopez.
The 21-year-old forward has enjoyed a breakthrough season in Ligue 1 and has attracted interest from a number of giant Premier League clubs, including the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea.
Lille have earned a reputation as one of the continent’s most forward thinking clubs in recent years and have sold a number of stars for enormous profits, including the likes of Nicolas Pepe who signed for Arsenal last summer for a club-record £72million sum.
The COVID-19 crisis is certain to have a major impact on this summer’s transfer window, but Lopez insists his club will not be bullied into selling their prized asset for less than his market value.
Gerard told the Daily Mail: ‘There are multiple offers. We turned down one English and one Spanish offer this January transfer window.
‘There is a wide array [this summer] and I wouldn’t want to give the names of the clubs who are bidding but what I can tell you is that there are multiple [offers]. There are three championships that have clubs that have bid for him.
‘I am not being a sales guy because last year people didn’t believe that we had the offers we had with [Nicolas] Pepe and it turns out we had multiple of them.
‘Let me tell you with Osimhen, it is the same thing, whatever number you heard, the high number I have read is very much on the money of the offers that we have received. That’s where we are.’
Manchester United are allegedly leading the race for Bayer Leverkusen prodigy Kai Havertz.
The hugely talented playmaker is highly sought after and United are ready to make an initial offer of £50 million for him, according to The Sun.
The club will most probably have to increase their bud but they are eager to secure a deal for the German star.
The report indicates that Red Devils are still eager to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, who netted a hat-trick in a 6-1 victory away to Paderborn last weekend.
Sancho would most likely cost in excess of £100 million if he was to make the switch to Old Trafford.
Kai has often played as an attacking midfielder but the ace can also be deployed out wide or as a forward in a No 9 or No 10 position.
This season the 20-year-old has mustered 15 goals in 38 games for Leverkusen in all competitions, while he has provided eight assists.
Havertz has just over two years remaining on his existing deal at Leverkusen but the club could find it difficult to retain his services.
Meantime, Manchester United would allegedly be interested in signing Adrien Rabiot in the summer as part of a potential swap deal with Serie A giants Juventus for Paul Pogba.
The speculation surrounding Paul’s future continues to gather pace, with the France international apparently determined to force a move away from the Red Devils.
Rabiot, meantime, has been strongly linked with an exit in the latest months, and United are one of the clubs thought to be interested in signing the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder.
