Andras Pereira insists he wants to remain at Manchester United and win trophies under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, in spite of speculation over his future.
Pereira has featured 34 times for his side in all competitions this season but hasn’t played a full 90 minutes in the Premier League this year.
Reports have stated that United chiefs are open to selling the academy graduate along with team-mate Jesse Lingard in the summer so long as they receive decent offers for the duo.
But despite his future is far from secure, he outlined his intention to stay at the club and hopes to repay the faith shown in him by Ole by delivering silverware for the Norwegian.
‘Even when I came to United at such a young age, going to United it’s, of course, a massive club, but I know that they are willing to give youth a chance,‘ Andreas told the club’s official website.
‘That is what happened to me. Ole knows we will always be there for him. The young players give our faith and do everything to protect him, as he gives all his trust to us.
‘I’m very honoured and that’s why, as well, I want to stay at United. I want to fight for him, win games and win trophies.‘
Meantime, The entourage of Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt has reportedly offered La Liga club Real Madrid the chance to land his client during this summer’s transfer market.
Manchester United are reportedly considering rekindling their interest in the Netherlands international in the summer.
However, according to Sport, the super-agent Mino Raiola has already offered his client to Los Blancos, who are allegedly seeking a long-term replacement for club legend Sergio Ramos.
Manchester United and league rivals Everton are said to be following Lille ace Jonathan Ikone ‘closely’ – but any deal for the forward won’t come cheap.
The 21-year-old star has been a regular for the Ligue 1 outfit this term, starting all but two of his club’s 28 league games. In this time, Ikone has scored three goals and provided a further six assists.
Ikone made his international debut for his country back in September. And he found the net just eight minutes after coming on to seal the win for France over Albania during a UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier.
The star’s stock has continued to rise throughout the term, and Le Quotidien Du Foot in France now report that he has drawn interest from Premier League sides United and Everton. Elsewhere, Sevilla are also understood to be keen.
The report states that Lyon made an approach for Jonathan during the January transfer window, but no deal ever materialised as Les Dogues were searching for €70 million for his services.
The recent decision to postpone UEFA Euro 2020 until 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic may make the player think twice about moving as he will be keen for regular senior team football ahead of the championships, but Le Foot claim that despite this, a departure during the summer is ‘envisaged’.
But with the star continuing to impress since the close of the winter market, they may hold out for a similar figure to the one Lyon were quoted in January.
The Red Devils are on the lookout for a right-sided attacker and while Jadon Sancho is the number one target, Ikone does also fit the bill.
Manchester United could reportedly revive their long-term interest in Nikola Milenkovic with head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen on signing a new central defender ahead of next season.
The Serbian star was closely watched by the Red Devils under former chief Jose Mourinho but Fiorentina’s £54 million asking price put them off from making an official approach.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Ole has expressed the desire to bring in another centre-back during the summer and Nikola is one of the high-profile targets for the club.
The 22-year-old star, who has also been tracked by the likes of Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid and Napoli, could be available for a reduced fee of around £40 million with his contract scheduled to expire in two years’ time.
Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have been the constant choices under Ole at the heart of the defence but the Norwegian seems keen on adding competition for places.
Axel Tuanzebe and Eric Bailly have impressed with the limited opportunities in the current season but the duo have had injury problems over the past few campaigns.
Meantime, Solskjaer is reportedly content with his options at left-back, leaving the head caoch to focus on other targets during the next transfer market.
With the club having work to do in order to become PL title challengers, it has previously been stated that a replacement for Luke Shaw would be purchased at the earliest opportunity.
However, according to The Sun, Ole is prepared to promote academy product Brandon Williams to the first choice in that position.
During his first senior season at Old Trafford, the 19-year-old has made 19 starts and seven substitute outings across all competitions.
