Man Utd step up interest in Spain youth international Ferran Torres

Manchester United are weighing up a move for La Liga outfit Valencia forward Ferran Torres, the reports from Spain say.

The Spaniard has impressed for Los Che during the 2019-20 campaign, registering six goals and seven assists in all competitions.

Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho is understood to be United’s number one target heading into the summer transfer market, but the Red Devils are supposedly making contingency plans should BVB’s asking price for the Englishman prove too much.

According to Fichajes, Ferran’s agent has been in contact with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side regarding a proposed summer move for the 20-year-old, who only has one year left to run on his existing deal at the Mestalla Stadium.

The report states that the Spaniard could be set to quit Valencia after his relationship with chairman Peter Lim deteriorated, but United would have to ward off interest from Manchester City and Liverpool for his signature.

Meanwhile, Solskjaer’s side are reportedly on the verge of sealing a deal for Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish.

The Aston Villa playmaker is believed to be a target for the 20-time English champions after impressing in his first campaign back in the Premier League.

It is claimed by the Daily Express rivals the Citizens are also in the hunt, with Pep Guardiola eyeing Jack as a replacement for David Silva.

However, the 24-year-old Englishman, who has managed nine goals and six assists in 34 games this season, is on the verge of moving to Old Trafford.

Man Utd failed in attempts to land Real Madrid academy graduate

Real Madrid defender Achraf Hakimi reportedly rejected the chance to sign for Manchester United in favour of completing a transfer to Inter Milan.

Hakimi has spent the past two campaigns on loan with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, particularly catching the eye in the second of those seasons.

Los Blancos have agreed to offload the Morocco international to Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan in a £36m permanent deal.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Hakimi also had the chance to continue his career at Old Trafford but knocked back the PL side’s advances.

Bayern Munich are also believed to have approached the 21-year-old, who is leaving Madrid after making just 17 appearances for them.

In other news, Jadon Sancho has snubbed the offer of a new contract at Borussia Dortmund, according to a recent report.

The England international has been strongly mentioned with a move to Manchester United on the back of another scintillating campaign in the Bundesliga.

Sancho, who netted 17 goals and set up 16 more in the German top flight this season, is also rumoured to be a target for Barcelona and Real Madrid.

In an attempt to tie the 20-year-old down to a fresh long-term deal, BVB are said to have offered to double his current £5.1 million annual salary.

However, Sky Sport Germany states that Sancho will not put pen to paper on new terms, leaving the door open for Manchester United, Barcelona and Madrid to pounce.

A separate report says that the Red Devils are not ready to hand over more than £50m for the Manchester City ace, though, which could make it a two-horse race for his signature.

Man Utd receive huge boost in long-term pursuit of Ajax No.6 star

Ajax board have transfer agreements in place with Manchester United-linked Donny van de Beek, Andre Onana and Nicolas Tagliafico, meaning all will be allowed to quit the club this summer, manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed.

Donny has been regularly linked with a switch to Manchester United, while Real Madrid also maintain an interest in the talented midfielder.

A move to Chelsea for shot-stopper Onana has been mooted, while Arsenal and the Blues have been touted with an interest in Tagliafico, so all transfers are possible.

Erik is expecting Tagliafico to move on this summer and while he isn’t ruling out Van de Beek and Onana staying at Ajax for another term, he admits that agreements are in place to let them leave should an acceptable offer come in.

‘The transfer market will start in August – the top leagues are now being played out, so the money flows are maintained,’ Erik told Het Parool, via MEN.

‘The market value of players will be slightly depressed, but not much. Based on their performance and ambition, a number of our players also want to make the move abroad.

‘Agreements have been made with Andre Onana, Donny van de Beek and Nicolas Tagliafico, but it remains to be seen whether the market is indeed breaking loose.’

Meanwhile, Manchester United are allegedly close to confirming the landing of Marc Jurado, who is quitting Barcelona this summer.

While the Catalan side have high hopes for the 16-year-old defender, club officials were unable to agree to terms with the prospect’s agents.

That has resulted in confirmation that the talented right-back will be departing Camp Nou, increasing the possibility of a move to Old Trafford.

Although Marc has not provided any hints regarding his next destination, Metro has claimed that the player will likely sign for United.
