Everton could allegedly battle Manchester United for the signature of Roma winger Cengiz Under during this summer’s transfer market.
The 22-year-old has scored three goals in 21 matches for his Italian club during the 2019-20 season, while he has netted 17 times in 86 games in total since arriving from Turkish football in 2017.
A recent report stated that United were interested in the Turkish star and had sent scouts to watch the player in action during the current season.
However, according to Corriere dello Sport, the Toffees are firmly in the running for the winger, who could reportedly be available for as little as €30 million (£27.3m).
The report claims that Napoli are also in the race, with the Italian club’s head coach Gennaro Gattuso viewing Cengiz as the ideal player to boost his attack.
The ex-Altinordu youngster has a contract at the Stadio Olimpico outfit until the summer of 2023.
In the meantime, Inter Milan senior figure Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that they have still yet to reach an agreement with Manchester United over renewing Alexis Sanchez’s loan spell.
Chile international Alexis has spent 2019-20 at San Siro after struggling to make an impression in his first 18 months with United.
The 31-year-old star has also underwhelmed this campaign for Inter, but the Nerazzurri are looking to prolong his deal until the end of the elongated Serie A campaign.
Giuseppe has been left frustrated by how talks with the Red Devils have panned out, however, while talks with Chelsea over fellow loanee Victor Moses are also ongoing.
“This is a great regulatory anomaly that needs to be resolved because we are still dealing with Chelsea and Manchester United today to try to extend their loans,” Marotta told Sky Sport Italia.
