Manchester United have made contact with the representative of Parma sensation Dejan Kulusevski, but face stern competition from two Italian heavyweights, a respected Italian journalist claims.
Kulusevski has been one of the breakout stars in Italy this season having moved to Parma on loan from fellow Serie A side Atalanta, getting three goals and five assists from 14 Serie A matches.
Clubs across the continent are on alert as a result, and an Italian daily sports newspaper La Gazzetta Dello Sport‘s Nicolo Schira says that Manchester United and Inter Milan had meetings with the Swedish youngster’s agent last week.
Negotiations appear to have been positive, with Nicolo affirming that both clubs want to land the 19-year-old in January.
Atalanta officials have admitted that they wouldn’t be able to stand in Dejan’s way if a big club came in with a bid, but it is reported it would take around €40 million to tempt them into selling.
Nerazzurri are not Manchester United’s only competition for the player, though, with Schira claiming that Maurizio Sarri’s Juventus want to block any rival offers and snap up the player next summer instead.
Kulusevski has admitted that he is a Chelsea fan, and there has been positive news for the west Londoners on Thursday, with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirming that they’ll be able to sign players in the January transfer window after their transfer embargo was lifted.
