Aston Villa have allegedly slapped a £100 million asking price on key man Jack Grealish to ward off interest from Manchester United and City.
The Citizens are understood to have made the 25-year-old their number one target following the England international’s stunning start to the campaign.
And it has been stated that the Red Devils remain interested in bringing the player to Old Trafford.
United were strongly linked with a move for the Villans star in the summer, but he instead penned a fresh five-year contract in the Midlands.
It is said the boyhood Villa fan is not thinking about quitting the club, but that hasn’t stopped Dean Smith’s outfit from putting a price on him.
According to the Telegraph, possibl suitors would have to fork out a British record £100 million to prise Grealish away from the club.
He had been valued at around £70 million in the summer, but after chipping in with six goals and as many assists in ten matches, his price has jumped up.
This is a result of his new contract, sparkling form and his introduction into the Three Lions set-up under current manager Gareth Southgate.
Instead of cashing in though, Villa are understood to believe they can convince Jack to stay at the club beyond 2021.
Elsewhere, Newcastle United are allegedly exploring the possibility of signing Manchester United full-back Brandon Williams on loan during the January transfer market.
The 20-year-old ace has been restricted to just five appearances this campaign, with both Luke Shaw and Alex Telles ahead of the Englishman when it comes to the left-back spot at United.
