The talented defender had very little chance of playing regular football at Arsenal this term and was therefore loaned out to League One club Blackpool.
That came after the 21-year-old impressed in the Northern Ireland senior team versus Norway, complete with Erling Braut Haaland in the attack. His move to Blackpool has certainly been a hit thus far.
The youngster has been named man-of-the-match in both of the matches he has played so far and his boss Neil Critchley was extremely impressed with his most recent showing against MK Dons this weekend.
“We don’t want to get too carried away with Dan but I think he’s been outstanding in both games and rightly man-of-the-match,” the Seasiders head coach told the club’s YouTube channel.
“He played like a man out there today. Really assured (his) defending was outstanding up against good strikers, some experienced strikers.
Elsewhere, Arsenal still want to land Lyon star Houssem Aouar, despite missing out on the midfielder during the summer transfer window.
According to the latest reports in Italy, they will face stern competition from Juventus for his signature.
The French ace had earned attention from around Europe for his displays last season and had been valued at £54 million by the Ligue 1 side.
