Inter Milan have slapped in an opening big-money bid for LOSC Lille winger Nicolas Pepe, who has been on the transfer radar of Arsenal, Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
Nicolas’ form this season in French top-flight has led to the serious interest of some of the elite clubs in Europe ahead of the summer transfer market.
The Gunners have been keeping a close eye on the Ivorian for a number of months and German club Bayern Munich are also thinking about taking him to Bavaria.
Inter Milan recently joined the transfer race for Pepe and it has been stated that the Serie A heavyweights have already made a first move for the star.
According to French outlet France Football, Nerazzurri have tabled an offer worth €60m with LOSC Lille in order to take the player to Italy in the summer.
The Italians are prepared to invest huge money in order to sign Pepe, who the club see as a future star, and have confirmed their willingness by tabling the initial proposal.
While it’s unclear whether the offer has been accepted, Les Dogues are likely to call for more money as the club recently stated that they turned down an €80m bid for their prized asset.
The French side are counting on more teams to make concrete moves for the star soon and drive up his market value.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti made a desperate last-gasp attempt to try and convince Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira to snub a move to Gunners.
‘Ancelotti wanted me to bring him to Napoli up until the last minute, but we already had a verbal agreement with Arsenal,’ Lucas’ agent Pablo Bentancur told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
