David Ornstein reports that PL giants Arsenal are one of a few clubs keeping an eye on Ben Godfrey this campaign.

Borussia Dortmund and Lyon have both ‘made checks’ on the 21-year-old defender. Meanwhile, Gunners and Spurs are showing interest from England.

This is not the first mention of Arsenal’s interest in Ben. Scouts watched the centre-back all the way back in February, according to reports at the time.

The big problem is that Norwich City value him at around £50m. They’ve seen the likes of Harry Maguire moving for £85 million and EFL Championship defender Adam Webster transfer for £20 million.

As a result, the club’s management have raised their asking price. Around Norwich City, the belief is that Ben will become an elite defender.

Right now, he is part of a struggling Canaries team fighting relegation. The club are four points away from escaping the relegation area with a goal difference gap of 12 to make up.

There’s a long way to go this campaign, but the club are probably going to struggle to command a £50 million fee from the English second tier. They need to get their act together or the top clubs will pounce.

In other news, Il Mattino reports that Napoli are lining up an offer of £21m for Arsenal’s all-around midfielder Lucas Torreira.

The report claims that the Serie A side, who recently sacked Carlo Ancelotti as head coach, were interested in a loan move during the January transfer market, but the Gunners are improbable to agree to those terms.

AC Milan are also said to be closely monitoring developments surrounding Uruguay international.
