Norwich star remains on Arsenal radar despite imminent January signing

Norwich City winger Emiliano Buendia has allegedly remained as a transfer target for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

The Gunners are on the verge of signing Real Madrid’s Martin Odegaard on a season-long loan deal, ending any realistic hope of sealing a deal for Buendia this transfer window.

However, according to a report by, manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu are still interested in eventually signing Buendia.

Norwich are understood to be demanding in the region of £40 million for the Argentine, who has contributed seven goals and six assists in the EFL Championship this season.

While that effectively left the north Londoners to consider other options for the midway point of the season, it is stated that an official approach will be made later this year.

The South American still has three-and-a-half years left on his deal, putting the Canaries in a strong position regarding his long-term future.

In the meantime, Arsenal are allegedly considering Crystal Palace’s Tyrick Mitchell as a possible transfer target.

According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal scouts are currently monitoring the 21-year-old defender at Premier League rivals Palace.

The report claims that Mikel Arteta’s side want to land another left-back to the squad and have eyed Southampton’s contract rebel Ryan Bertrand, but the Palace talent is also someone on their radar.

He is a relatively inexperienced player to come through the club’s academy, but he’s impressed during his 10 top-flight appearances this campaign and may have a huge future ahead of him.

UCL giants keen to use unsettled star to lure Arsenal-owned midfielder

Arsenal could reportedly be set to add Paris Saint-Germain’s Julian Draxler to the signing of Martin Odegaard.

The Germany international has been touted for a swap deal involving Gunners loan star Matteo Guendouzi.

According to L’Equipe, Les Parisiens manager Mauricio Pochettino wants to bring in the French ace this month.

A new central midfielder is high on his list with Tottenham playmaker, Dele Alli, another man linked.

But the Ligue 1 giants have long held an interest in Matteo too with the 21-year-old, born in the Parisian suburbs, joined them as a kid.

Arsenal beat PSG to his signature in 2018 but manager Mikel Arteta fell out with Guendouzi at the end of the last campaign.

A loan spell at Hertha Berlin has seen the star enjoy a brief revival of form but the German sid cannot afford him past the summer.

In addition, the sacking of head coach Bruno Labbadia has reportedly lost Matteo a key ally in the capital amid dressing room tension.

The Gunners are expected to announce the loan acquisition of Real Madrid playmaker Odegaard within hours.

But the Norwegian talent may not be the only attacking midfielder coming in to replace Mesut Ozil if Julian is offered.

The German has started a PSG match since October and was stuck on the bench for last week’s 4-0 demolition of Montpellier.

Arsenal’s fellow Premier League side, Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United are also said to be chasing the signature of the 27-year-old former Schalke talent.

French club table contract offer to 24-year-old Arsenal loanee

Lucas Torreira may reportedly have taken a step closer to sealing a permanent move away from Arsenal.

Tuttomercatoweb claims that Monaco have offered the Uruguay international a three-year deal.

His future has been a talking point during the window. Lucas has been a peripheral figure since switching to Atletico Madrid on loan in the summer.

The 24-year-old has started just two league matches for Diego Simeone’s side. Interestingly, Marca claimed earlier this month that Lucas was set to stay in the Spanish capital beyond this market.

However, a report from Italy has suggested that he is quitting Atletico. And it appears that he could be on his way to Ligue 1.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the French outfit have made contact with both Torreira and Arsenal. And they have apparently offered the South American a three-year deal.

It is suggested that the offer appeals to both the north London heavyweights and the former Sampdoria ace.

However, It remains to be seen what sum could be involved and Los Rojiblacnos may also have a view on losing the player.

So perhaps it’d be no surprise if there are plenty of hurdles left to clear before Lucas becomes a Monaco player.

But Mikel Arteta’s side will surely be content if they manage to sell him permanently. Unfortunately, for all of his potential and talent, it doesn’t seem to have quite worked out under the Spanish manager.

With Mikel looking to bolster his roster, it may really benefit Arsenal to cash in if the chance presents itself this month.
