David Seaman has told Mikel Arteta to recruit Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha, a player targeted by ex-Arsenal boss Unai Emery.

Since leaving the Gunners last December, Emery has revealed he wanted to bring in Wilfried ahead of £72 million record acquisition Nicolas Pepe in the summer of 2019.

Nicolas has struggled to live up to expectations following his mega-money switch from Lille and subsequently fallen down the pecking order under Mikel.

Meanwhile, Zaha has continued to shine for the Eagles and already found the back of the net five times in the top-flight this season.

The Ivory Coast international has previously revealed that it was ‘amazing’ to hear of the Gunners’ interest in him last summer.

And speaking exclusively on the new Target Men Podcast, Gunners hero Seaman advised his former side to sign the 28-year-old.

‘I think Zaha would be a good addition to Arsenal because he’s a proven goal-scorer,’ David said.

‘I don’t know the reason why it hasn’t happened as he obviously wants to come.

‘Whether it’s the agents and clubs not agreeing certain things, that must be the reason, but he’s made it clear that he wants to come as he’s an Arsenal fan. He would be a good addition to the squad, no doubt at all.’

The north Londoners are languishing in 14th place in the standings after accruing just 13 points from their opening 10 matches this season.

They faced Rapid Vienna in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday and now Arsenal await big Premier League clash against bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
