Dayot Upamecano is becoming highly likely to leave RB Leipzig next summer, according to the German outlet Kicker.

The Arsenal target was heavily connected with a move to the Emirates during the previous summer transfer market.

The club were said to have failed with a €60m bid to sign him, but his release clause due to drop to the same figure in 2020.

Upamecano has been a long-term defensive target for the Gunners and they now know that they could land him for the same amount that they offer for him previously.

The defender’s exit clause reportedly drops by €20 million every year, making the player an affordable option for the Gunners as they seek defensive reinforcement.

Arsenal would be foolish not to try and land the player once again, especially considering the French ace William Saliba is due to link up with the first-team roster next summer.

The two French centre-backs, as well as Rob Holding, would offer the Gunners a long-term solution to their defensive struggles and give the backline a really exciting and youthful feel.

Meantime, Dani Ceballos has held discussions with Real Madrid owner Florentino Perez over his future.

According to El Desmarque, the 23-year-old star met with Florentino last week to discuss his future, and the midfielder is hopeful that he’ll be allowed to move to the Emirates Stadium on a permanent basis next year.

The Spain international joined the Gunners on loan during the summer transfer market after being deemed surplus to requirements at Madrid for the 2019-20 term.
