Arsenal have been linked with a surprise move for Barcelona misfit Antoine Griezmann.
Mikel Arteta is ready to let Matteo Guendouzi and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang head in the opposite direction to get a summer deal over the line, reports claim.
Griezmann only signed for Barcelona in a controversial transfer from Atletico Madrid previous summer.
The Catalans were said to be courting the France World Cup winner for some time and eventually paid his exit clause of £107 million to secure his signing.
Atletico disputed this, though, and stated his buyout clause was actually £180 million while some of the club’s supporters ripped his plaque out from Los Rojiblancos’ Wanda Metropolitano stadium.
The 29-year-old star has endured a difficult first season at the club and netted just eight LaLiga goals – the last time he failed to reach double figures for league goals was in the 2011/12 term when he was playing for Real Sociedad.
The relationship between the Barcelona stars and head coach Quique Seiten appears to be at an all-time low with reports claiming several dressing room bust-ups.
Antoine was brought on with just two minutes remaining of Blaugrana’s 2-2 draw with his former club Atletico this week with the tie handing Real Madrid the advantage in the title race.
There have also been claims of a rift between the France international and the club’s legend Lionel Messi.
The Express claim Arsenal may offer him a way out of La Liga in return for Aubameyang and Guendouzi.
Pierre-Emerick has entered the final year of his contract at the Emirates and Arsenal will have a big decision to make regarding his future this summer if he refuses a fresh deal.
