Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is allegedly waiting to see if Barcelona board offer him a contract before pledging his future to the club.

According to reliable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Gabon striker is still weighing up his variants before he puts pen to paper on a fresh deal at the Emirates.

Aubameyang’s current deal expires in the summer of 2021 and LaLiga giants Blaugrana have been linked with a move for the 31-year-old in the latest months as he stalls on signing a new deal.

The Gunners’ talisman underlined his unquestionable importance to the Gunners with a fine performance when it mattered most previous weekend, as his double led the club to a historic 14th FA Cup win.

Speaking to The Beautiful Game Podcast, Fabrizio said: “Aubameyang is waiting to see if other top clubs offer him a contract, like Barcelona. At the moment, no one has made a bid.

“Yes they are talking and it’s up to Aubameyang because the contract has been offered to Auba many months ago, they did what they can, they offered him an important contract and he’s going to decide soon.

“He is also considering the possibility of staying at Arsenal, because they’re doing everything to let him stay at the club, Arteta, all the board, Edu, they are calling him everyday. There is a good possibility he will stay.”

In other news, Arsenal are allegedly unable to complete a move for Chelsea attacker Willian until they offload Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Gunners are the frontrunners to land Brazil international Willian when his contract at the club expires later this month.
