Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly preparing to rival Frank Lampard’s Chelsea for the signature of Real Madrid full-back Achraf Hakimi during this summer’s transfer market.
Hakimi has spent each of the last two campaigns on loan at Borussia Dortmund but will return to his parent side ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
The Blues have allegedly already been in touch with Madrid to discuss a potential move, but according to a Spanish newspaper AS, the Parisians and the Old Lady are also considering offers for the Morocco international.
Los Blancos are said to be keen to hand the 21-year-old a fresh long-term contract, having been impressed by his development during the last couple of seasons.
Zinedine Zidane’s side are reportedly fearful that Hakimi could decide to depart, though, as there is no clear pathway into Madrid’s starting XI due to the presence of Dani Carvajal.
The attacking-minded right-back’s current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu will run until the summer of 2022.
Meantime, Frank Sinclair has stated that Chelsea’s Reece James is a better defender than Liverpool ace Trent Alexander-Arnold.
In spite of their contrasting experience at the top level, ex-Blues player Sinclair feels that James is better defensively than the Englishman.
Speaking to GentingBet, Frank said: “It’s going to be a big ask for James to rival Trent Alexander-Arnold given the way that he is performing for Liverpool, but I do see faults in Trent’s game.
“Defensively, Reece James is a better defender than Alexander-Arnold at the moment, but it is hard to find a full-back that produces as many assists in Europe than Trent does for Liverpool.”
