Stefano Pioli’s AC Milan are reportedly focusing on selling stars before trying to finalise an agreement to land Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea.
Tiemoue has made it clear that he only wants to sign for AC Milan and is prepared to accept a 50% pay cut to get the deal over the line.
The Blues have agreed to loan the player out initially with an option to buy, but negotiations between the club and AC Milan have been difficult.
The Rossoneri don’t want to meet Chelsea’s €30 million asking price and it has been claimed I Rossoneri now have other priorities over signing Bakayoko.
According to an Italian broadcaster Sky Italia, the board are considering selling a few stars before concentrating on the deal to sign the former Monaco ace.
For the moment, they are in no hurry to get the deal done in spite of the struggling Frenchman being a priority signing.
The discussions could drag on for a few more weeks as the San Siro outfit try to convince Chelsea management to accept a lower figure.
Tiemoue is not part of Frank Lampard’s plans and the west Londoners are keen to move him on before the transfer deadline next month.
In the meantime, Sky Italia with Sportitalia also report that the deal is done between Chelsea and Genoa for the transfer of Davide Zappacosta and it will be a dry loan without an option to buy at the end of the term.
