One-time defender Frank Sinclair says that Chelsea ace Billy Gilmour has the ability to become a Stamford Bridge legend in the future.

Before the coronavirus crisis, the academy graduate produced two man-of-the-match displays as Chelsea defeated Everton and Liverpool in the space of five days.

While it remains to be seen whether the 18-year-old midfielder will continue to be handed regular opportunities when football eventually resumes, Frank has talked up the chances of the Scottish talent becoming a permanent fixture in the starting lineup.

Frank told GentingBet: “Billy Gilmour has got what it takes to make it at Chelsea and he’s got an incredible future at the club – I’d put him up there as being a real Chelsea great if he gets the opportunity to play regular football for Chelsea.

“Before he even arrived in the first team this season, I was well aware of how highly he was rated after listening to what was coming out from the academy coaches on their analysis of the player. Everyone is fully aware as to how good he has been since he joined the football club.”

Frank spent eight years at the Blues between 1990 and 1998, making a total of 218 appearances across all competitions.

Meantime, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are allegedly preparing to rival Chelsea for the signature of Real Madrid full-back Achraf Hakimi during this summer’s transfer market.

Hakimi has spent each of the last two campaigns on loan at Borussia Dortmund but will return to his parent side ahead of the 2020-21 term.

The Blues have allegedly already been in touch with Madrid to discuss a potential move, but according to AS, Bianconeri and the Parisians are also considering offers for the Morocco international.
