Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane wants to land N’Golo Kante from Chelsea next summer transfer window, according to the latest reports in the British media.

The Athletic, as cited by the Daily Express, is claiming that the Spanish giants have already added the 28-year-old star to their shortlist for next year.

N’Golo is widely regarded as one of European football’s elite holding midfielders and he has been a regular fixture in the Blues side since signing for the club from Leicester City back in 2016.

The same report states that Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard have both privately remarked that N”Golo would be a great signing for Los Blancos.

According to the same story, the Galacticos boss Zidane is a long-term admirer of N’golo and he remains interested in bringing him to the Spanish club next year.

N’Golo has only started one Premier League match for Chelsea thus far this season because of injury.

The former Leicester City man has won the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Europa League since his switch to West London back in the summer of 2016, just after the midfielder helped the Foxes to win the title.

Meanwhile,Kepa Arrizabalaga is confident he and the Blues’ other Champions League rookies can flourish in the top competition this season.

The 24-year-old Spaniard said: “Regardless of the fact we’re a young team and it’s only September and there is a long way to go, we are going to play with energy and try and attack the opposition.

“Many of the players in the team will be playing their first Champions League game but we’ve been waiting for this for a long time.”
