Crystal Palace will allegedly consider a bid for Chelsea full-back Marcos Alonso if a contract extension can not be agreed with Patrick van Aanholt.

The Dutchman is out of contract at the end of the term and is yet to secure fresh terms that would keep the player at Selhurst Park.

And the Daily Mail reports that Marcos is one of the players being considered to replace the Netherlands international should he leave.

Alonso’s future at Chelsea is in doubt after he fell out of favour under manager Frank Lampard this season.

The 29-year-old star was taken off at half time versus West Bromwich Albion in September, with his side trailing 3-0, and has not featured since.

Alonso has another three years left to run on his contract with the Blues, but he is not the only name on the Eagles’ shortlist as Jordan Amavi of Marseille is also understood to have piqued the interest of the Premier League sid.

However, Roy Hodgson’s outfit still hope to convince the former Chelsea player to pen an extension.

The 30-year-old star, who joined Palace from Sunderland in the winter of 2017, is one of several players with contracts set to expire next summer.

Jairo Riedewald, Tyrick Mitchell, Vicente Guaita, Gary Cahill and Scott Dann will also be available as free agents unless fresh terms are agreed.

In other news, Serie A giants Napoli are reportedly keen on signing Chelsea outcast Emerson Palmieri.

The 26-year-old star was already falling out of favour at the club last season, and now the arrival of the Englishman Ben Chilwell has made it harder for Palmieri to come into manager Frank Lampard’s thinking for a starting place.
