Chelsea are one of a host of clubs to have contacted Eredivisie giants Ajax over a possible deal for David Neres.

According to a British tabloid newspaper the Daily Mail, Chelsea have asked de Joden about Neres as they plan a swoop for the forward.

The report states that Liverpool, Everton and Arsenal are also keen on the Ajax star, who impressed in Holland this campaign.

Neres played 28 league matches for Ajax, netting eight and assisting eight, whilst also finding the back of the net three occasions in the UEFA Champions League for the Dutch giants.

The club are said to be willing to sell David to the highest bidder, but there’s no mention of an offer from any sides so far.

The 22-year-old talent joined Ajax from Sao Paulo back in 2017 and has netted 29 goals in 95 senior-team appearances for the club across all competitions, whilst also having been capped twice by his country at international level.

In other news, Tiemoue Bakayoko is prepared to return and fight for his place at Stamford Bridge following a one-year loan at AC Milan.

After a terrible debut campaign in the EPL, the Frenchman was shipped out to AC Milan on loan, where the player eventually rediscovered the form which made Chelsea pay £40 million to land him from AS Monaco in 2017.

The French star still has three years left on his Stamford Bridge deal and will not be joining AC Milan, who failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League on a permanent deal.

“There are some pretty interesting, quite big clubs that have inquired, but we give priority to Chelsea,” Abdoulaye Bakayoko, his entourage and brother, told L’Equipe.
