Marco Silva’s Everton are planning to make a swoop for Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi, according to recent reports from the Express as quoted by Liverpool Echo.
The Belgian star is currently out on loan with fellow EPL side Crystal Palace, and it’s believed that Chelsea have slapped a £40 million price tag on the forward.
Bundesliga title chasers Borussia Dortmund are also understood to be interested in landing the star in the summer transfer market.
Belgium international had spent the first half of the campaign on loan with La Liga club Valencia.
The Toffees have had a stop-start campaign under Marco Silva, but the club have shown enough on the pitch to give hope to fans faith for the next campaign.
Everton managed some notable coups in the last few transfer markets, and it remains to be seen whether Farhad Moshiri’s club would be prepared to spend £40m on Michy this summer.
A lot was expected out of Turkish star Cenk Tosun, but the former Besiktas player has failed to make an impression.
Marco Silva has often overlooked the player, and he has even preferred a wide man like Brazilian star Richarlison over Cenk to lead the line.
At present, young Englishman Dominic Calvert-Lewin is doing more than a sufficient job up top, and the star has cemented his place in the starting line up after some influential showings.
However, it’s clear that Everton would need more attacking options if they plan to break into the top 6 in the next campaign.
