AC Milan are reportedly looking for reinforcements in midfield, and the club appear to have turned to a familiar name in Chelsea’s Tiemoue Bakayoko.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Calciomercato.it), the France international has very clear ideas: his first choice is certainly to return to Milan this summer.
The Frenchman – after his loan to AS Monaco expired – has returned to the Blues but is not part of the plans of the London side. This time, it is expected that the west Londoners will only let him leave outright and not on loan.
The paper adds that the Blues would like at least €20 million for the 26-year-old star, who enjoyed a successful loan spell at I Rossoneri in 2018-19 under Gennaro Gattuso.
Thomas Tuchel’s Paris Saint-Germain continue to be keen, but the player still prefers the Milan-based outfit.
An obstacle for the club, however, is represented by salary: if Tiemoue wants to return to Milan, he’ll have to reduce it from the current €4 million a year.
Meantime, Chelsea are allegedly set to spend £200 million during this summer’s transfer window, in spite of already completing deals for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.
The Blues have boosted their attacking variants for next season by bringing both Ziyech and Werner to the club, while Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Kai Havertz continues to be linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge.
According to The Mirror, manager Frank Lampard wants at least three more signings this summer, with Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell and West Ham United’s Declan Rice priorities alongside Kai.
