Chelsea full-back Davide Zappacosta is rapidly closing in on a transfer to Serie A side Genoa.
Genoa want to snap up Davide and have hit the accelerator in an attempt to land him quickly.
They’re now close to securing the player on a season-long loan deal, according to an Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.
It is claimed that Davide, who spent last campaign on loan in Italy with Paulo Fonseca’s Roma, is set to undergo his medical checks with the club soon.
If the Italian comes through the medical check with no issues, he’ll then put pen to paper to a loan deal at the Serie A club.
Soon-to-be his new club finished just one place above the drop zone in the top-flight last season and conceded a whopping 73 goals in their 38 games.
The 28-year-old saw his stint at Roma interrupted by a serious injury, restricting his appearances in Serie A for I Giallorossi to just nine.
The former Atalanta and Torino star has a further two years left to run on his current contract at Chelsea.
Meanwhile, according to The Independent, West Ham’s Declan Rice could attempt to force a move to Chelsea over the next few weeks in spite of having a contract at the London Stadium until June 2024.
The report states that the 21-year-old ace is currently deciding his best course of action and could force his side’s hand by signalling a desire to leave.
Rice was released from the Blues academy at the age of 14 after seven years with the Stamford Bridge outfit.
