AS Roma have pinpointed their ideal replacement for Italy international Stephan El Shaarawy at the club, the winger having completed a move to Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai Shenhua this summer.
According to the latest reports from Il Corriere dello Sport, Giallorossi are chasing Frank Lampard’s Chelsea and Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich target Leon Bailey as their perfect replacement, the Bayer Leverkusen forward having been long-since tracked by some of Europe’s top clubs.
However, the Italian newspaper suggest that AS Roma have a plan to land the Jamaican international, using Czech striker Patrik Schick as part of a player plus cash deal; with the Germans receiving €15 million plus the talented striker as part of the deal.
It’s unclear whether or not Bayer Leverkusen board would accept an offer in this region, or whether the club would prefer just cash for their player.
However, promising signs for supporters of AS Roma, with the club actually planning to reinvest and replace an important player who has left the club.
In other news, Bayern Munich are reportedly prepared to push ahead with an improved offer for Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The Bundesliga giants had three offers for the 18-year-old ace rejected in the winter transfer market, the largest believed to be worth around £36 million.
He handed in a transfer request at the time, but his stance is said to have changed since then after being handed more playing time in the closing weeks of the 2018-19 season before picking up a long-term injury.
In spite of potentially missing the rest of 2019 with the serious knee injury, the Daily Mail claims that Bayern have rekindled their interest in the England international and are prepared to lodge a new bid.
