Paris Saint-Germain will allegedly consider a move for Chelsea star Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer if the club are unable to sign his fellow countryman Tanguy Ndombele from Tottenham Hotspur.
The French giants are expected to be in the market for a new central midfielder ahead of the 2020-21 season and have been linked with Ndombele, who has reportedly refused to play for Spurs manager Jose Mourinho again.
However, according to a recent report from a French source Le Parisien, the Parisians are also keeping a close eye on Tiemoeu and could move for the France international in the upcoming market.
The 25-year-old has spent each of the last two campaigns out on loan, representing AC Milan during the 2018-19 season before returning to Monaco, making 23 appearances in his second stint with the club.
Bakayoko is due to return to the Blues this summer but is allegedly not in Frank Lampard’s plans moving forward, leading to a host of talk surrounding his future.
In the meantime, Chelsea are allegedly determined to bring West Ham United star Declan Rice to Stamford Bridge during this summer’s transfer market.
The 21-year-old ace, who represented the Blues as a youth player between 2006 and 2014, has been in stunning form for the struggling Hammers during the 2019-20 season.
The England international has a deal at the London Stadium until June 2024, but he continues to be mentioned with a move away from David Moyes’s side due to their struggles this term.
According to The Sun, Chelsea want Declan to ‘lead their defence’ next term, with Blues manager Frank Lampard keen to sign the talent and deploy him at the heart of a back three.
Chelsea are reportedly confident of landing Declan Rice in a £45 million deal from city rivals West Ham United this summer.
And Blues manager Frank Lampard is planning to use the England star as a centre-half, with his side looking to mount a title challenge next campaign.
The Sun state West Ham value Rice at around £70 million, but Chelsea are hopeful of landing their former academy player for less.
The 21-year-old Englishman’s valuation would also drop if the Hammers are relegated from the Premier League this campaign.
In April, Declan admitted he’d love to play alongside childhood friend and Chelsea playmaker Mason Mount at club level.
The duo played together in Chelsea’s academy before Declan was released at the age of 14. Rice told Copa90: “Yeah I’d love to. I’d love to play with him at club level again.
“One thing we always said as kids was that we’d love to play with each other at club and international level. But obviously you never know because of different paths and things like that.”
With the arrivals of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, Chelsea could challenge Liverpool and Manchester City for the Premier League title.
The Blues’ defence has looked vulnerable at times this campaign, with Kepa Arrizabalaga keeping just six clean sheets in 31 PL games.
And Frank sees Rice, who is traditionally a defensive midfielder, as the man to shore up his defence. Declan has played every minute of West Ham’s Premier League season so far this term.
Chelsea have reportedly pinpointed Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana as a potential replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The former Athletic Bilbao man has suffered mixed fortunes during his time with the Blues, although Kepa has regained his place in Frank Lampard’s starting XI over Willy Caballero since the Premier League returned.
Nevertheless, the Spaniard’s future continues to be shrouded in uncertainty ahead of the summer transfer market, and Chelsea are said to be making contingency plans in case the star does seek pastures new.
The goalkeeper is reportedly on Valencia’s transfer radar ahead of a proposed two-year loan switch, and The Mirror reports that Chelsea could look to seal a deal for Onana should Kepa return to his homeland.
The Blues have been previously touted with an interest in the £30m-rated Cameroon international, but they’d supposedly have to fend off interest from Paris Saint-Germain for Andre’s signature.
Chelsea have already been heavily active in the transfer market and are ready to welcome Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner to the English capital ahead of the 2020-21 season.
Elsewhere, Chelsea want Declan Rice to lead their defence next campaign – and are growing confident they will seal a deal to sign the West Ham United star this summer.
Frank Lampard is desperate for a player to come into the heart of his back line and help drive a challenge for the PL title next season.
Hammers star Declan is the man he wants, with Frank keen to shift him from the holding midfield position the talent currently plays in back to his natural home in the centre of defence.
The Blues have sounded out their London rivals over a deal this summer and think they can get their man for around £45 million.
