Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater could land a shock loan transfer to Valencia, reports say.
The ex-England midfielder has flopped in temporary stints with Burnley and Aston Villa amid personal problems.
But Radio Esport Valencia report Javi Gracia’s La Liga high-fliers fancy a “cheap” move for the 30-year-old.
The suggestion is the Blues would still pay part of his hefty salary, while Los Che would be no under no obligation to buy him afterwards.
Danny last played for his parent club two years ago, having left Leicester City for £35 million in 2017 a season after winning the PL.
And earlier this month Italy’s Il Secolo XIX newspaper stated an intermediary had asked Sampdoria if they were keen on Drinkwater this summer.
By far the best football of Danny’s career came under the Serie A side’s manager Claudio Ranieri when the Italian was Foxes’ boss from 2015-17.
Since then Danny’s decline on the field has been matched by three huge controversies off the field.
That led to the player consulting a sports psychologist to revive his professional career after admitting “making mistakes”.
In other news, Bayern Munich are in negotiations with Chelsea over a deal to land Callum Hudson-Odoi on a season-long loan, according to Sky Germany.
The submitted offer is a loan plus an obligation to buy the talented attacker on a permanent deal in summer 2021.
Sky Germany say the England youth international winger could make the move by the October 5 transfer deadline, following a breakthrough in negotiations between the two clubs.
Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin have touched base with the agents of Tiemoue Bakayoko and Chelsea to discuss the possibility of landing him on loan.
Chelsea and Tiemoye have been keen to part ways all through the market, but his future at Stamford Bridge remains unresolved with deadline day looming.
A move to AC Milan stalled as the Serie A side failed to agree a fee with Chelsea and talks with Paris Saint-Germain haven’t progressed at any pace.
He is becoming tired of all the delays and is aware that the Paris Saint-Germain hierarchy are divided over whether to land the French midfielder.
And according to French outlet Foot Mercato, the Berlin-based outfit have now inserted themselves into the mix and are aiming to sign the Chelsea star.
The German club are in touch with the player’s represented and the west London heavyweights with a view to signing him on loan.
He wants his future resolved before Monday’s deadline and he is tempted at the possibility of playing in Bundesliga with Hertha Berlin.
Atletico Madrid and Valencia have also registered an interest, but they have not made any concrete effort for him yet, while Napoli are also an option.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have reportedly made a bid for Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.
The Germany international is reportedly surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and is expected to quit the club before the transfer window closes on October 5.
A number of sides, including Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, have been mentioned as possible suitors for Rudiger.
However, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Tottenham have now lodged an official bid for the star as Jose Mourinho’s side look to bring another centre-half to the club.
Chelsea may look at Thomas Partey as a potential alternative to the England international Declan Rice, according to reports.
Frank Lampard wants to add a holding midfielder to his ranks before the transfer market deadline closes on Monday.
The Blues have already invested heavily in their roster this summer, buying the likes of Ben Chilwell, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and most recently, goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
With the Blues’ defensive frailties exposed once again in their 3-3 draw with Slaven Bilic’s West Bromich Albion last weekend, adding a player in midfield to protect their back line could help matters.
Declan is believed to be Lampard’s No.1 target to fill that position, but West Ham have remained insistent that they don’t want to lose their star man.
And according to The Guardian, the west Londoners could view Atletico Madrid midfielder Partey a possible alternative option to Rice.
The Telegraph also add that Chelsea scouts have been watching Los Rojiblancos’s star, whose contract at the Spanish side includes a £45 million release clause, over recent months.
Meantime, Chelsea chief Frank Lampard has said that he is open to forward Callum Hudson-Odoi leaving the club on loan before the end of the summer transfer market.
“With every player in the squad, if it is a situation of a loan you have to consider what is best for the player, what is best for the club first and foremost, and then see how it stacks up,” the Evening Standard quotes Frank as saying.
“With all those three players (Hudson-Odoi, Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek) I will always take those things into consideration. I have not got an answer on any of those three.
“Once the window shuts every player here within our squad will be used because there is a long season and a lot of competition coming up. We will know more on Monday.”
