Chelsea transfer target Declan Rice is allegedly weighing up whether or not he should push for a transfer away from West Ham United.
The 21-year-old star is a top target for manager Frank Lampard, as the west Londoners look to continue splashing the cash this transfer window.
The Hammers are desperate to keep Declan but the Independent are reporting that the Englishman will decide whether he should attempt to force through a move to the Blues.
It comes after the club legend Frank McAvennie warned the club that they need to put in better displays than they did in their 2-0 loss to Newcastle on the opening day of the PL season if they don’t want Rice to push for an exit.
Speaking to Football Insider, Frank said: “If they want to keep Declan Rice then they have to be doing better than that. He is a great player and he will not want to be playing in a team like that.”
The Blues have already spent big in the transfer market, paying £36 million for Hakim Ziyech, activating Timo Werner’s £47 million exit clause, forking out £45 million for Ben Chilwell and spending £72 million on Kai Havertz.
The club have also secured the signature of experienced centre-back Thiago Silva on a free after he quit Paris Saint-Germain.
Chelsea are also looking to sign a new shot-stopper and Rennes stopper Edouard Mendy is expected to join the club.
Meantime, ex-Chelsea manager and current Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho could come face to face with his former side after the draw for the fourth round of the Carabao Cup was made on Thursday.
