Chelsea have reportedly moved to the head of the queue of clubs who are interested in landing Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

According to claims on Calciomercato, the Blues have appeared as the leading contenders to sign the German star, who has been touted as a top transfer target for Liverpool.

Werner has scored 18 goals in the Bundesliga so far this campaign and could depart Leipzig, with the forward recently confirming that a move to the PL would be attractive.

Timo possesses the necessary ability and skills to provide Chelsea’s squad with an exciting new dimension.

Tammy Abraham is integral to Frank Lampard’s system, but providing him with the competition, and also supplying the head coach with a different style of forward, would be intelligent.

Timo has shown that he is a pure goalscorer during the past few years; his tally of 18 for die Roten Bullen under Julian Nagelsmann this season only further reflects his prowess.

Upon viewing the striker in action, it is evident that Timo’s strengths lie in his dynamism and drive to burst in behind defences and mercilessly strike in front of goal.

Meantime, Chelsea star Ross Barkley has reportedly appeared as a surprise transfer target for West Ham United.

While Ross has endured a stop-start season, the Englishman has recently returned from injury to make productive starts for the Blues.

However, his long-term future at the club remains uncertain given the competition in the middle of the park.

According to The Mirror, the Hammers are keen to seal a loan deal for the playmaker, who has previously worked with David Moyes at Everton.
