Frank Lampard insists the English midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has a future at Chelsea.

The 24-year-old star is spending the campaign on loan at Fulham and has impressed under manager Scott Parker.

Ruben made just nine appearances for Chelsea last campaign as he was recovering from a ruptured Achilles which Loftus-Cheek suffered in a post-season friendly in May 2019.

The star will be unable to feature in Fulham’s clash against Chelsea this weekend because of a clause in the loan agreement between the two sides.

But Frank says he has been impressed with the impact the towering midfielder has made at Craven Cottage.

‘He played well [against Tottenham] and I was really pleased to see that because when Ruben was getting fit and was with us, I felt like we missed him last year,’ said Frank.

‘And when Ruben was getting fit, I was excited because I know the attributes he has and I wanted those attributes at the club.

‘If he can keep that up hopefully through the season and if he can get back to where he was and more then I’ll be very happy and he’ll come back as our player, for sure.’

In other news, Chelsea could enter the fray to sign Beijing Guoan defender Kim Min-jae in the January market.

He has been linked with a move abroad and with his current contract at the Chinese side set to expire in December, the management could cash in on their prized asset should the right offer present itself.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Blues could swoop for the South Korean man in January but would need to fight off interest from league rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.
