The Portuguese media will not stop saying that Chelsea are interested in landing Alex Telles from Porto.

This week, the French media has stated that Paris Saint Germain are chasing the left-back and recently got in contact with his agent.

That story never mentioned the Blues, and still, Chelsea are included in some articles in the Portuguese press. This is the case of Jornal de Noticias.

The outlet first covers those reports from France, then says the Stamford Bridge outfit are also in the race, as the club see the Brazilian as a replacement for Marcos Alonso.

Alex Telles is protected by an exit clause of €40m, but since his contract expires next year, the Dragons are only demanding €30m to let him go.

Still, the Paris-based heavyweights consider these figures to be ‘exaggerated’, so perhaps that is a good sign for Chelsea.

Jornal de Noticias writes that when choosing a new representative, Telles was approached by Italian entourage Federico Pastorello, who has a huge influence over Serie A clubs.

But he has ended up choosing Pini Zahavi due to the agent’s work in England and France, and that could be a clear sign of what Alex wants for his future.

Meantime, Chelsea have allegedly put no pressure on N’Golo Kante to return to training after the star was granted compassionate leave over coronavirus fears.

He took part in training on Tuesday as a host of Premier League clubs resumed non-contact sessions, more than two months after the season was brought to a halt by COVID-19.

However, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard allowed the midfielder to skip Wednesday and Thursday’s training sessions because of fears over spreading the disease to his family.

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea fully accept Kante’s decision and haven’t put a timeframe on his return to group training.
