Tottenham are allegedly interested in a transfer deal for Villarreal centre-back and rumoured Manchester United target, Pau Torres.
The 23-year-old Spaniard has shone in La Liga and could soon make sense as a signing for a host of top clubs, with the Red Devils recently mentioned as admirers of his in a report from ESPN.
United have a shortage of quality at centre-half and could definitely do with a signing like Pau, though it seems Spurs are now also pursuing a deal, according to a recent report Don Balon.
Jose Mourinho is putting together a strong team with the north Londoners currently top of the Premier League standings on goal difference.
Pau could be another useful addition to this roster, with the player perhaps likely to be an upgrade on the likes of Eric Dier or Davinson Sanchez, who has dropped into defence from midfield at times this campaign.
It’d be interesting to see Torres in the top-flight, but it’s hard to know at this point if he would favour a move to Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur if they both came calling.
Elsewhere, Dayot Upamecano continues to be linked with the Red Devils, with the French defender interesting a host of Champions League clubs.
However, it appears the centre-half is not the only member of RB Leipzig’s roster attracting the attention of the Manchester United recruitment team.
According to pundit and former PL striker Jan Aage Fjortoft (via MEN Sport), United are also interested in Marcel Sabitzer if he becomes available.
