Man Utd will still have to part with €35m to sign Hellas Verona star

Hellas Verona aren’t budging from their asking price for centre-back Marash Kumbulla, who has been linked with a number of clubs, including Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United.

He has generated pages of positive scouting reports through his displays in Serie A with Hellas Verona this season.

The centre-half has helped his side sit eighth in the Italian top flight, following promotion from Serie B, and Serie A clubs Inter Milan, SS Lazio and Juventus are all interested.

Apart from the Red Devils, he has also been linked with Premier League outfits Everton and Tottenham.

The changed landscape of football has led some teams to accept they’ll have to lower their valuations in order to secure sales of their stars.

However, according to an Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, I Gialloblu are not lowering their price for Marash and have set it at €35 million.

Inter have failed with an offer of €18 million plus Eddy Salcedo and it is unclear if any of his suitors will be willing to meet his side’s asking price.

Marash will be back in action this coming weekend when Ivan Juric’s side play host to Cagliari and talent spotters are sure to check up on him.

Meantime, Richarlison has stated that Everton knocked back offers for him earlier this campaign from Barcelona and Manchester United.

“There were lots of offers during the season, from Barcelona and from Manchester United,” the Brazilian said to YouTube channel Desimpedidos.

“But the club opted to keep me in the group and I didn’t want to leave in the middle of the season. It’s bad to leave teammates like that.

“Of course you feel impacted – Barcelona is one of the greatest clubs in the world, but I think happiness plays its part as well.”

Man Utd in the mix to bring €25m Hellas Verona ace to Premier League

Manchester United and their league rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also showing interest in Hellas Verona’s central defender Marash Kumbulla, it has been claimed in Italy.

Kumbulla’s performances for his side in Serie A at the age of just 20 have seen a host of teams looking at potentially signing him this summer.

Hellas Verona want above €25 million to let him leave and Inter Milan, Lazio and Napoli all want to make sure he continues to play his football in Serie A.

Everton have been mentioned with Kumbulla but, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, there are more teams from the PL in the mix.

Both the Red Devils and Spurs are listed as admirers of the defender, while from Bundesliga, RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt are keen.

A transfer scramble looks on the cards for Marash, but Hellas Verona may be keen to retain the services of the centre-back.

Transfer values in the summer are expected to be depressed by the current football landscape and it is unclear how much the Italians could earn from selling Kumbulla this year.

Marash’s side currently sit in eighth place in the Serie A table, with the league still hoping to play out the remaining matches.

Elsewhere, Jack Grealish is allegedly determined to leave Aston Villa during this summer’s transfer market as the speculation surrounding a move to Old Trafford continues to gather pace.

The 24-year-old star has been in impressive form for Dean Smith’s side during the current campaign, scoring nine times and contributing eight assists in 32 matches in all competitions.

According to The Athletic, Jack is currently fully focused on helping to keep his team in the PL, but the attacker will seek pastures new during this summer’s transfer market.

Inter Milan leading race to sign Liverpool-linked Marash Kumbulla

Inter Milan have a ‘clear advantage’ in the transfer race to sign Hellas Verona centre-back Marash Kumbulla ahead of Liverpool, according to a report by an Italian source Tuttomercatoweb.

It’s stated that Napoli want Kumbulla, but are trailing I Nerazzurri in the race. Manchester United are interested too, whilst it’s stated that Jurgen Klopp’s side and Tottenham Hotspur have ‘recently joined’ the race.

Right now, I Nerazzurri look to be his most likely destination. Partenopei were leading the race earlier this year, but it’s Antonio Conte’s side pushing now.

Antonio already has the likes of Alessandro Bastoni, Diego Godin, Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij, but Kumbulla could be a star of the future.

The 20-year-old ace has emerged in the Verona ranks and has really emerged as a world-class talent under Ivan Juric in an impressive season.

A talented young defender, Kumbulla already has one cap for his country, Albania. Marash had qualified to play for Italy having been born there but made the decision to represent his parent’s nation.

He is still a relative rookie but has been compared to Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini in a big form of praise. It’s, therefore, no wonder the Reds and Spurs are in the race.

Considering the global pandemic, Tottenham may not be in a position to spend big in the summer, making a move for Marash seem unlikely.

The Anfield outfit will likely dial back their spending too but seem more likely than Jose Mourinho’s side.

Chelsea try to steal march on rivals for £27m defender Marash Kumbulla

Chelsea have reportedly stepped up their interest in Hellas Verona’s central defender Marash Kumbulla.

The Blues are one of several elite European clubs monitoring the Serie A prospect and have now been touted with showing concrete interest in the 20-year-old.

He is highly regarded in Italy, having made 18 Serie A appearances for eighth-placed Hellas this season.

And Corriere dello Sport report that the Blues have made a move towards signing the Albanian star as they look to get the jump on the competition.

Inter Milan have previously been considered as favourites in the race for his signature, although Lazio are now said to be the Blues’ main competition.

Reports from Italy earlier this month also claimed that Arsenal, Everton and RB Leipzig were in contention for the player who has been compared to a ‘young Giorgio Chiellini’.

Corriere dello Sport also throw Borussia Dortmund into the mix but state Lazio believe a move to Rome makes the most sense for Kumbulla.

But if it comes down to money, the Blues are thought to be in the driving seat with Marash reportedly set to cost at least €20m (£18m).

FCInterNews even went so far as to value the impressive defender at €30m (£27m) earlier this month.

Guaranteed playing time may be harder to come by at Stamford Bridge, where there is fierce competition for places in central defence.

However, he may fancy himself to make an impact at the club where the latest generation of youth talent has been handed a chance to impress under the latest regime.

£27m Serie A central defender reportedly linked with Arsenal

Arsenal are the latest side to show interest in landing Inter Milan target and current Hellas Verona centre-back, Marash Kumbulla.

According to an Italian source, FC Inter News, Arsenal are one of two PL clubs – the other believed to be Tottenham – to enquire over the talent.

Kumbulla has been hugely impressive in the league this season with Verona. Nerazzurri have been linked numerous times with launching their move, although Arsenal’s interest is fresh.

The Gunners are keen on improving their side this summer. However, the club could have a limited kitty to work with thanks to current global scenarios and financial issues.

But Marash could be within their price bracket if the club do want to make a move. A previous report has stated that the Albanian prodigy might be available for around £20 million.

However, fresh reports from Italy claim a figure closer to £27 million is now being touted by the Italian club’s management.

The north London side’s hierarchy will be desperate to give Mikel Arteta the backing he needs this summer.

The Spaniard has made a fine start to life in north London but knows he must improve the team further to keep improving.

Marash is only 20. That has not stopped him drawing praise, however.

Former Palermo and Roma full-back Federico Balzaretti has praised Kumbulla’s defensive prowess in the past.

“Kumbulla is a ‘defending’ defender. The first thing he thinks of is defending his goal and not taking goals,” the ex-Italy defender told Goal.

Chelsea need to act fast to secure services of Hellas Verona ace

Manchester United are allegedly still in the hunt for Hellas Verona centre-back and Chelsea target Marash Kumbulla.

The Blues have been strongly linked with a swoop for the 20-year-old, and it has been claimed that the west Londoners are lining up a £21 million offer for the Albania international.

Talk of a potential move to Old Trafford has quietened in recent weeks, but according to a recent report by Corriere di Verona, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are still in the mix for his signature.

Kumbulla, who is said to be valued by his Italian club in the region of £24m, has netted once in 18 Serie A appearances during the 2019-20 season.

The centre-half came through the youth system at Serie A side and is tied to the club until June 2022.

Ivan Juric’s side are apparently facing the prospect of losing the youngster ahead of the 2020-21 term, though, with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan also believed to be admirers.

Meanwhile, Barcelona will allegedly refuse to sell Chelsea target, Philippe Coutinho, for anything less than €100 million (£87.3m) this summer.

The 27-year-old has spent the 2019-20 campaign out on loan at Bayern Munich, where he has netted nine goals and created eight more in 32 appearances in all competitions.

Bayern are not keen on making that deal permanent, though, while Blaugrana are keen to cut their losses on a star that cost them a club-record £145m just 18 months ago.

However, the Spanish giants are unwilling to drop their asking price too much, and Mundo Deportivo claims that they will not consider any bids below £87.3m.

Chelsea preparing to steal march on Inter Milan for Albanian talent

Chelsea are ready to pay £21 million upfront to sign Hellas Verona centre-back Marash Kumbulla, according to the latest reports in Italy.

Kumbulla is a rising star in the Italian top-flight, only turned 20 in February and is a top target of Serie A title-chasers Inter Milan.

However, Italian publication L’Arena claim the Blues are keen to beat their former manager to the transfer and have indicated they will pay a significant fee for the young centre-back.

Manager Frank Lampard wants to continue altering his Chelsea roster and is targeting the addition of fledgling talent, as well as established players.

Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech became Lampard’s first major acquisition and Chelsea are working on a way to make sure Marash joins the attacking midfielder at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are ready to pay the transfer fee upfront, which could set them apart from Inter in spite of the fact the Italian club has already held extensive negotiations with the player and Hellas.

The Blues are set to back their head coach in the coming summer window after a transfer ban and Frank is plotting a big summer window.

But the Chelsea boss’ plans might be derailed by the coronavirus outbreak which has forced football to go into shutdown.

The PL has extended the 2019/2020 season indefinitely and discussions are underway about what to do with the summer transfer market.

In other news, Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a summer swoop for Barcelona-owned youngster Marc Cucurella, a Spanish outlet Sport reports.

Hellas Verona put £23m price tag on head of Man Utd target

Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly locked in a battle to sign Hellas Verona centre-back Marash Kumbulla.

The 20-year-old Albanian star is hot property across Europe following his dominant displays at the back this season.

Kumbulla, a towering centre-half, has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in Serie A having made 18 league appearances.

The Italians know interest in his signature is rife and have slapped a £23 million price-tag on Marash’s head.

Reports in Italy suggest a whole number of clubs are vying for his signature including SS Lazio, Inter Milan and Napoli.

But it adds that the Premier League pair are also in competition in an attempt to bring the player to England.

He has been a vital part of Verona’s impressive campaign that has seen them concede just 26 goals in 25 matches.

Both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Frank Lampard want to bring in a new central defender this summer and want to look towards the future with younger acquisitions.

Ole is seeking a stable partnership at the heart of the defence, ideally a consistent performer alongside £85 million Harry Maguire.

Frank has also struggled to find a solid defensive partnership during the campaign.

Antonio Rudiger’s return from an injury has seen him become a first-choice regular but doubts remain over Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen and Fikayo Tomori.

In other news, Chris Smalling won’t make a decision on his long-term future until the summer, reports say.

Roma are keen to land the Englishman on a permanent deal, while the likes of Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham have all been credited with an interest.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Chris is yet to make a call on his future and won’t decide his next move until this summer’s transfer market.
