Liverpool talent Ben Woodburn looks set to spend 2020/21 term out on loan, with a number of domestic and foreign sides interested in the 20-year-old’s services, according to Goal.

League One promotion chasers Portsmouth and Ipswich Town are both said to be keen on the young attacker, whilst there is also interest in the player from a host of Dutch Eredivisie sides.

Woodburn, who became the Anfield outfit’s youngest ever goalscorer in a League Cup tie against Leeds United in the autumn of 2016, spent last season with League One Oxford United.

Unfortunately, his time at the Kassam Stadium outfit was limited to just 16 appearances, owing to two separate foot problems.

His development has suffered for two campaigns now after Ben left Anfield with plenty of hype around him as the year before the switch to Oxford, Ben was recalled from a difficult loan stint with Sheffield United after making just seven appearances.

Back to full fitness after a lengthy lay-off during football’s pandemic enforced downtime, the attacking midfielder has seemingly returned in impressive shape and now is looking forward to getting his development back on track following two poor years.

Oxford United were handpicked by Liverpool as the perfect destination to aid his development and it is likely that time will be spent once more to find the perfect club for the Welsh international.

In spite of two stop and start seasons, it looks like Liverpool still hold out high hopes for the playmaker, however, it seems certain that he needs to make an impact next campaign to get his stalling career back on track.
